Calculating Volumes and Bulk Density of Materials
The use of silos is contemporary in the agriculture and chemical industries around the world. Silos are used for both dry bulk and liquid applications.RotoTank™ has solutions for both applications. We manufacture a 8 – 16m³ adjustable Modular Grain Dry Bulk Silo for small to medium capacity dry bulk such as feed, powdered compounds, dry fertilizer, etc. It is often used at chicken coops and piggeries. Depending on the bulk density, dry volume can be accommodated from 50lt to 27 000lt sizes.
Some of the main features of theRotoTank™dry-bulk system includes:

- Gravitational free flow of contents with up to a 60-degree gradient.
- Good for storage of grain, animal feed, coal, cement, carbon black, wood chips, sawdust, foods, plastics powder and granules, etc.

RotoTank™ also manufactures silos for liquid applications in various strengths depending on the use. It may be used for chemicals, water, oils, food stuffs, etc. RotoTank ™'s plastic silos come in various shapes, colors and sizes ranging from 175 liters to 27 000 liters. Silos are suitable for both liquid and dry storage above the ground allowing you to stock large quantities.
Given that silos hoppers and conical stands are not portable, a metal support or mounting, complete with an Engineer's approved Certificate of Compliance, can be supplied upon special request.

Our tanks come with an 10 year UV protection as well as 10 year structural strength warrant
- Extra heavy duty silo or hopper is available upon special arrangement, especially recommended where very high S.G contents is being stored.
- The steel support must be fixed using approved secure civil engineered mounting and is the responsibility of the installer.
- Thoroughly discuss the application type of use with your RotoTank™ supplier.
- Do not lift the silo or hopper whilst having any contents
- Ensure that the plastic container is free of contact with hot or chemical exhaust gases during transit or after installation.
- Protect from fire damage.
- Do not drop the container which would cause damage to the structural integrity of the tank.
- Only store product or contents which is chemically compatible with LLDPE as prescribed by our Chemical Compatibility table of contents.
- Should you wish to store hot products in excess of 40°C for excessively long periods, please discuss this with RotoTank™.
